FINAL WEEK FRINGE RECOMMENDATIONS
Hey Fringe Pigs, I know it’s getting to the tail end and you’ll be wanting to cram in every last show you can see. It can be hard to choose out there – so I’ve put together a really good list of all the real MUST SEES of this final week.
To make it easy, you only have to see one show a day – that’s going to leave you time to explore the city, enjoy the bars and restaurants and have a relaxing end to what can be a big month.
So without further ado: here’s a really easy list of what to see during this last week:
WEDS 22nd of August.
Eli Matthewson – The Year Of Magical Fucking – 9.20pm at Underbelly George Square
This is a really tight show from a rising star of New Zealand’s comedy scene. Has some cracking jokes about sex education, this one really is unmissable.
THURS 23rd of August.
Eli Matthewson – The Year Of Magical Fucking – 9.20pm at Underbelly George Square
Venture into the George Square Garden, grab one of the legendary toasties, and sit down for a show Shortcom gave five stars, saying “Deserves to be massive”. Don’t want to spoil too much, but you’ll not think of Frozen the same way again.
FRI 24th of August.
Eli Matthewson – The Year Of Magical Fucking – 9.20pm at Underbelly George Square
Friday is a good day to take a punt on something new – why not a Christchurch-born coming telling you about the year he tried to become sexually liberated? You’ll laugh, you’ll cry, you’ll learn something!
SAT 25th of August.
Eli Matthewson – The Year Of Magical Fucking – 9.20pm at Underbelly George Square
You’ll have to book ahead because this one has been selling out on Saturdays! Get a group together and get ready to LAUGH because this is a comedy show designed to induce laughter. Featuring more than 50 jokes, we recommend this show.
SUN 26th of August.
Eli Matthewson – The Year Of Magical Fucking – 9.20pm at Underbelly George Square
Sunday is the Lord’s day – so why not spend it with the lord of Fucking! This is the most sexually woke show in Edinburgh, and our top recommendation for the Sabbath.
MON 27th of August.
Mamma Mia: Here We Go Again – anytime at your local cinema.
They’ll be taking the venues down and removing all the food trucks on Monday – and as the festival winds down I’d recommend this film starring an up-and-comer called Cher. It plays all day! If you did want to catch one of the last live shows at the Fringe, a newcomer called Eli Matthewson has his last show of the run at 9.
